Joby's rackin in the baskets!!!

Yehaw! During Tuesday night's basketball game, Joby scored ten points! He called me tonight from Grants Pass where his team is playing its away game. He did not sound very broken hearted to tell me that they lost their game. But....

...he sounded VERY happy to tell me that he scored 7 big baskets tonight...that's 14 whoppin points!!!

That is reason to celebrate for that kid.

This morning two other moms and I were putting lunches together for the three basketball teams of boys heading off to Grants Pass. Both moms made sincere comments about how well Joby is beginning to play his game.

They also commented that he was a very sweet young man to have on the team. Looking at this picture makes me wonder who they are talking about?

Go Indians...Go JobyMeister!

A New Blog

Here I am with a Blog site! I guess I am catching up with this new idea of sharing our lives with others in a new way.

What is happening this morning? Not much. The house is pleasantly quiet with only typical house noises...ticking clocks, snoring dogs, my husband shuffling through the house in his slippers...yes, he is shuffling because Snoopy chewed on one, and now it is loose...and for now that is a typical sound until I buy him a new pair.

I warned him not to leave Snoopy the pup, out of his kennel when we left for Joby's basketball game, but he insisted :)

I love this time of the morning right after Joby leaves for school. I sit here at my computer and drink that first cup of coffee of the day. I should also mention that the wind is howling crazily outside. Davy is on his way to the Dalles to pick up a "cherry of a bike," and I worry about him driving along the gorge in such horrific winds. I have made him promise not to talk on his cell phone while he is driving.

Oh, dear, my quiet morning has been interrupted by a screaming woman in our neighborhood. I wonder what that is all about? The dogs are now at the door barking along with her. Ok, what is going on? Ah, I see. Her young pup is running all over the road, between houses, and having a good time as he ignores his owner. Meanwhile, she is trying to catch him and try to get her young son into the car. Finally, she has made the catch, puts her wild pup into the house, then scoots her son into the car. Meanwhile the wind is blowing up a splendid storm as it shakes everything outside and around the house.

This morning I am reading in the book of Galatians. I quote the Apostle Paul: "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

I have a sweet friend who is a Molalla City bus driver. Carol loves the Lord and LOOKS for opportunities to share His love with others. Oh, she doesn't preach the Word of the Lord directly, but rather by her gentle responses and encouraging words. Many of her riders are drug addicts, alcoholics, low income, and handicapped. She looks at her job as an opportunity to share the compassion she feels for the underprivileged in our community. In short, she is happy to be up close and personal...to the bad smells, attitudes, and personalities of a host of confused people.
Carol is 69 years old, has a husband who is dying of emphysema, and is raising two teenage grandchildren. She is an amazing woman.

We are all one in Christ. It is my prayer for the day that the Lord will give me an opportunity to share this compassion with someone today.
